The only way that software can cause a lockup like this is if the firmware has been corrupted. My understanding is that the power supply during uploading and downloading is provided through the JP1 connector, so it looks as if what has happened is that the battery power has somehow failed while things powered through the JP1 connector still work. This sounds like a hardware problem to me. Please someone take a look and offer some suggestions. I'm a hardware guy, I could take this thing apart, and troubleshoot, but I sure am hoping not to have to. I need some help from some software folks, I think. Batteries out, let it sit overnight, nada. I tried taking out batteries and pushing every single button on the remote, nope. I tried taking all batteries out and replacing them, didn't work. I tried reloading an earlier file, didn't work. No lights blink, no button presses make it respond, but I can still upload and download. I was trying to get the Power button to run the macro, when BOOM! Well, not literally. Had it turning everything on, and turning everything off using a button I didn't want to use. I was trying to get this new remote to work for the wife and kids, and I was almost there. I got a new 7962 about a week ago, getting back into jp1 after being in the harmony world for a while.
